About

Scott Fleming
Hi, I’m Scott Fleming, founder of the Brogansian affix, established in 2001.

First introduced to the world of Dog Shows as a teenager, I’ve been involved in dogs ever since.
Initially involved in Great Danes, I've been invested in Chihuahuas since my early twenties.
I was lucky to have an excellent mentor, Pam Tranter (Taradona); who has become an extended family member. Having her knowledge of Breed Type, Pedigrees and Lines, I was able to build my own successful show team and breed quality dogs of correct type and temperament. I’ve had great success in Smoothcoat Chihuahuas domestically and overseas.

I was Secretary of the Smoothcoat Chihuahua Club for a number of years. During this time I gained an insight into running dog shows, the complexities and hard work involved. I'm currently part of two hard working committees.

My aim at Brogansian is to breed dogs true to type and against the breed standard, focusing on health and temperament.
Breeder
As a breeder I aim to produce healthy, sound dogs of correct breed type and temperament.

I breed a couple of litters annually with the aim of showing and competing at Championship level. I therefore occasionally have quality puppies or retired dogs available to pet homes.
I never advertise puppies as "show quality" as so much can change in a pup. My pups are sold as seen at a pet price. However, once a pup is over 6 months old you have a better idea of how they "should" finish. An older quality pup or young adult already proven in the show ring will be priced appropriately.

I have a number of dogs available at stud to approved bitches. Please get in touch for any enquiries.
Exhibitor
I've been exhibiting dogs since my mid-teens. I'm proud to have made up UK Champions and Bred International Champions, being a very small select Kennel.

There's no better feeling than exhibiting a pup full of promise and seeing it blossom into everything you've worked hard to achieve. I don't stand for bad sportsmanship, take your chances on the day under the judge. Win or lose, you'll always take the best dog home!
Judge
I'm a passionate judge and have been privileged to have received some of the strongest entries at my judging appointments.

This is the best platform to award dogs who I believe best fit the breed standard, regardless of who bred, or owns them. Personalities and friendships should not factor when judging. Everyone pays the same money for a fair assessment of their exhibit. I have a very healthy respect for anyone who pays for my opinion on their exhibit and I always judge fairly and consistently. I'm proud of my reputation as a fair judge.
It's true that you can like a dog from ring side, only to be sorely disappointed once you get your hands on them and vice versa, hence why I'd never advise anyone to judge ringside. A pretty face or beautifully groomed coat can cover up many faults.
